Our story

Smilers,
since 2018.

Founded by Chogyel of the Dungtu family. Run day to day by our manager, Jurmi. Right in the middle of Thimphu, next to Clock Tower Square.

Who we are

A restaurant first, a bar close behind.

Mainly a Bhutanese kitchen, with international options for everyone at the table.

Chogyel opened Smilers on Norzin Lam in 2018. Today Jurmi runs the floor. The idea hasn’t changed: great Bhutanese and western food, cocktails, all the Bhutanese liquor and spirits, and really cozy vibes.

People love the BBQ chicken pizza, the hot chocolate and the coffee.
